Formed in October, 2005, The Southern Ontario Paranormal Society is a not-for-profit team of investigators dedicated to researching the historic and paranormal aspects of reputed hot spots, as well as private residences and places of business.
We have no desire to fake, doctor or mislead with any evidence we collect and present here on our site. Our aim is to find the truth, and to share what we believe may be real evidence of paranormal activity, along with full reports from our investigations.
If you believe you may be experiencing activity in your home or business and need help, please contact us with the details and we will do our best to help you in any way possible. We are committed to helping our clients 100%. This is our first priority.
Although SOPS mainly serves Southern Ontario, we are willing to travel if necessary.
*All of our services are completely free of charge and your information is kept entirely confidential.*

Though this summer has been extremely busy for most of the members of SOPS, we did manage to gather around and venture off to the German Mill located in the sleepy little town of Glen Morris, Ontario. It was certainly quite an eventful night indeed. Strangeness filled the air with this visit. SOPS has travelled to these mill ruins many times, but have never really had much success with gathering any evidence other then a strange EVP captured by Rob during our initial scouting trip there back in 2006. This trip was different however, as we were accompanied by some fresh prospective, as not only Gary and Leah from P.I.S.T. joined us last night, but Tom from The Shadows Project as well. Together, we spent a few hours collecting evidence which is still very much under review and once again, if anything is discovered we will share it with you all.
As mentioned above, there were some strange occurrences that did unfold last night which has us working harder to figure out. Occurrences such as strange drum like sounds, very faint in the near distance, travelling all around us while around the mill itself. A female singing/screaming which was very faint but very notable. Also, at one point, myself and Grant while travelling back to the trail, both noticed a streaking "ball-like" brightness in the near distance down the trail. Paranormal or not, these are aspects during the investigation of the mill which will lead us to further research the locale in the future. Until then, cross your fingers that some wonderful evidence will mysteriously appear during the reviewing process!
On another note, a few members from the team along with Gary and Leah will be travelling down to Salem, Mass. or in the surrounding areas in late October. If there are any local groups in the area who would be interested in joint investigations while we are down there, please contact us here. We always enjoy working with local teams to get a better idea of the locations as well as sharing techniques and more. Its all about networking and furthering the research in hopes of better understanding the unknown!
So, we finally found time to where everyone was able to get away from their hectic schedules to have our annual BBQ! Like last year's, it was yet another hit and tons of fun. The attendance is growing, so next year's will have to take place in a larger venue.
I will post pictures from the night very soon in our gallery. Thanks to everyone who came out for the fun! Here's to next year's already!!
Yes, this is truly exciting news indeed! Though the conference is still in the early stages of being organized, things are starting to shape up with some of the most prolific personalities in the paranormal field coming to this event. Appearences by Keith Age (Founder of Louisville Ghost Hunters Society, SPOOKED, CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE), Robbie Thomas (DEAD WHISPER), Jeff Belanger (GHOST VILLAGE, several books), and the list is still growing. SOPS will also be represented at the CAN-AM PARA CON 2009, with both Steve and Kate being added as guest speakers during the two day event happening in Sarnia next August! A huge thanks to Robbie for asking us to be a part of this huge and very important event for the Canadian Paranormal community and more!
The website for the event is still under construction, but as soon as I have the address, I will post it for everyone! As far as I know, the tickets will be available for the event very soon as well. More info soon!
Some of the SOPS team ventured into an abandoned farm house that yielded some strange atmosphere during our scouting trip there last fall. The strange EVP can be heard in our evidence gallery or simply go HERE ! Remember to throw on a set of headphones for best results!
Anyhow, Steve, Rob, Chris and Cheyenne ventured into the strange house last night in an attempt to gather some evidence, which will be shared here if anything was gathered at all.
We will be conducting a joint investigation with our good friends The Shadows Project very soon. The location is yet to be determined. More on this as we get things worked out.
Also, coming up in August we will be traveling into Hamilton to conduct a joint investigations with P.I.S.T. at the historical Customs House. More on this as time nears!
Some members SOPS conducted a scouting investigation of both the Morningstar Mill and the ruins of the Decew Home located just down the road from the mill location. Special thanks goes out to Gary and Leah from P.I.S.T. for allowing us to be a part of this investigation process. In the process we also invited in a new member to the team and family, Cheyenne. As the main part of the night centered around the Morningstar Mill and surrounding location of the mills itself, the Morningstar house, Decew Falls and the blacksmith's shop, there was a period when the SOPS' team branched off and walked to the ruins of the Decew house, which served as the outpost for Lt. James FitzGibbons during the war of 1812. This was also the very location in which Laura Secord ventured to in order to warn the Brits of the American plot to attack them. There was the centre of our evening which begun at 8pmEST, and ended up around 2amEST. It also served as the centre of anything unexplainable that the group experienced the entire evening. More on this with our report coming very soon!
In the meantime, here are some pictures from the evening, more will be posted in our evidence gallery when the report and any other evidence has been finalized. Again, help us welcome our newest team member, Cheyenne, to SOPS!!
We have added two very unique and very chilling EVPs to our evidence gallery. Both were captured during our investigation of a Port Robinson home in April. Details about them are found with them in the gallery located in the main menu or go HERE . Report for this investigation will be done very soon.
SOPS is gearing up for a joint investigation with members of P.I.S.T. at a very historic grist mill in St.Catharines, Ontario for early June.
SOPS carried out it's 2nd annual volunteer clean-up of the DeForest pioneer cemetery in Milton this afternoon. The turn out was incredible! More then double from last year's count. More was accomplished, not only with the clean-up itself, but learning more background of the surrounding areas. More on that at a later date. For now, a big thanks goes out to the SOPS crew who sweat bullets working hard in making DeForest a cleaner place to visit. Also, huge thanks to both Gary and Leah from P.I.S.T. who offered their services as well this afternoon. We also managed to fix a few spots around the cemetery as well. Over all I think today was very rewarding for us all. Here's to next year!
Also, stay tuned for some rather interesting evidence captured during our investigation of a home in Port Robinson, that along with our overall report. Stay tuned!
UPDATE: We have added pictures from the clean-up in our gallery ! Enjoy!
