Southern Ontario Paranormal Society

Formed in October, 2005, The Southern Ontario Paranormal Society is a not-for-profit team of investigators dedicated to researching the historic and paranormal aspects of reputed hot spots, as well as private residences and places of business.

We have no desire to fake, doctor or mislead with any evidence we collect and present here on our site. Our aim is to find the truth, and to share what we believe may be real evidence of paranormal activity, along with full reports from our investigations.

If you believe you may be experiencing activity in your home or business and need help, please contact us with the details and we will do our best to help you in any way possible. We are committed to helping our clients 100%. This is our first priority.

Although SOPS mainly serves Southern Ontario, we are willing to travel if necessary.

*All of our services are completely free of charge and your information is kept entirely confidential.*

The Search Continues!

We packed up around 1amEST this morning from yet another visit to the very historic Spruce Lane Farmhouse.

The latest investigation proved to be of a different atmosphere indeed. Rolling up in the dark, heavy rains pouring down, this evening was hopefully going to provide the group with more answers or evidence into the history of the farmhouse. Though very wet outside, the house inside generated a very unique atmosphere, a surreal feeling or a gateway to days back in the early 1900's when the house was fully in use.

This round of investigating saw us extend our search to the horse barn where there has been several reports of people seeing horses in and around the barn itself. Now, the barn has not housed any horses there since 2006. So, we felt that this was yet another vital area to look into. Hopefully upon reviewing the material taken will provide us with more answers into the farmhouse's past.

More soon!

Cherry Hill House Redux!

In the wee hours this morning, some members of SOPS returned to the historic Cherry Hill House in Mississuaga. As our research into the many claims of the paranormal continued, this return investigation proved to be very fruitful. We have now since started the evidence review and like always in these particular cases, do share our findings. Our approach this time was to heavily cover the audio spectrum in the house. Based on our first visit to the location, it very apparent that there was in fact some slight activity going on behind the scenes in the audio realm. Though this said, this early morning investigation provided something a little different then the first visit, a visual experience. Of course many of these personal experiences can't be concluded as "evidence", but it can however give us a solid point to analyze. Something we did extensively. So, like always, stay tuned for more details to come out on this trip....

The NEW German Mill Chronicles episode is now online!

Folks, our latest SOPSTV episode entitled The German Mill Chronicles is now online for all to watch. Either open the player here or visit the SOPSTV channel to view it in full screen! Please let us know your thoughts either there on Vimeo or here in our forums, thanks and enjoy!!

The German Mill Chronicles from Steve Genier on Vimeo.

Since 2006 Southern Ontario Paranormal Society have been investigating and researching the ruins of the German Mill. Originally built in the late 1840's and finally completed in 1867, first as a woolen mill and then later a lodge/bed and breakfast until the 1940's when the town abandoned it. In it's existence, there have been two documented death that occurred there. The first was of a little girl who had fallen victim to the mill's water wheel. Dragging her to her death by drowning her. The other was when it was a lodge. A man by the name of Dan had been shot in one of the upper lodging rooms. His murder is still unsolved to this day. Through it's research, and experiences through the 4 years that SOPS has been returning, they have had little success being about to actually document the mill activity. Activity such as the apparition of a woman, to mysterious unexplained drum beats in the distance. There is no doubt something is playing out and it's only a matter of time....
